Formulated with Lower Zinc
The National Institute of Health’s Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL) of Zinc is 40 mg. This is the “maximum daily intake unlikely to cause adverse health effects.” Some AREDS 2 brands use double this level (80 mg)!
The AREDS 2 Study tested both 80 mg of 25 mg of zinc. Investigators found NO significant changes in effectiveness of the formulation when lowering the zinc to 25 mg.
Too much zinc can cause nausea, interference with certain antibiotics & antivirals, stomach pains, high rate of UTIs & kidney stones, and inhibit absorption of iron & copper which leads to anemia and neurological damage.

I love the fact that it’s a powder. I mix it with my collagen powder so I get both supplements done at the same time. Really convenient!
So far, so good. The powder is easier to take than the pills. I have a doctor’s appointment in about six month, and then I’ll have a better handle on how it affected my eyes and also your automatic refill service. But, again so far, so good.

I needed the zinc content and copper your product provides. My eye doctor recommended AREDS 2 Powder when I told her about the problems I encountered with zinc tablets. Once I balanced my other supplements with the ones in your product I’ve had no adverse affects. Easily digestible.

I have been drinking the orange flavored powder mixed with water for over two years. The flavor is pretty good, and I like that I only have to drink it once a day. My last visit to the optometrist showed no increase in the degeneration of the macula.

The product is excellent, although a little pricie. It is easier to take that the gel caps and pills. The powder tastes good and works well for me.

Powder dissolves easily and the orange flavor is ok. I’m not sure how the vitamins are evenly distributed throughout the powder but hopefully they are.
